This is one rod from a large collection of coarse fishing tackle that I have just acquired. The previous owner had been collecting only the finest items and certainly had an eye for quality and always purchased the best of the best, including some of the rarest B James, Hardy and Oliver’s carp and Avon rods, with some of the most sought after reels including Chris Lythe, Paul Witcher, Richard Carter and Allcocks centre-pins
In superb condition, it has had a professional refurbishment to the top of the cork handle as there was too much hook damage and the cork needed to be replaced/repaired. It is full length, nice and straight with NO sets or ticks, whole cane butt section with split cane middle and top sections, agate butt and tip ring with stand-off rings throughout, red rubber butt cap and green silk whippings with intermediates throughout, complete with its original B James fitted rod bag and hardwood rod stoppers.
THIS IS ONE OF THE NICEST EARLY AVOCETS I HAVE SEEN FOR SOMETIME.
