In superb original condition. This beautifully crafted 8′3″ #4/5 split cane fly rod by Edwin C.W. Moran of Bedhampton, Hampshire, has seen only light use and has been exceptionally well looked after. A fine example of British rod-making tradition from a skilled and now rarely encountered independent maker.
Built to a high standard, this rod features rich burgundy silk whippings, a low-bell alloy butt guide, and snake rings throughout. The cork handle is nicely shaped and smooth, with little sign of wear, and the suction ferrule joints are tight and secure with a crisp fit. Complete with a good-quality rod bag.
Moran rods are now increasingly hard to find, particularly in such clean and original condition. Perfect for the traditional angler or collector, this rod offers a smooth, medium action ideal for chalkstream dry fly work or light nymphing on rivers.
