In near mint condition as it has only been used a few times. This is probably the nicest Hardy Richard Walker rods I have had for some time.

THIS IS ONE OF A SET OF THREE CUSTOM MATCHING RODS.

Hardy Richard Walker Fibalite No1 carp rods and Richard Walker Avon rod . The carp rods are 1.5lb TC and the Avon 1lb TC. These rods were custom built for the previous owner by Hardy Bros in March 2001 from the very last complete blanks that had been retained in stock after production ceased in the 1980’s. They had kept these in order to potentially replace customers damaged tip or butt sections.
They were built to the original 1970’s specification utilising traditional agatine butt rings with hard chrome intermediates, unlike the Fuji rings that were used on later rods. The main whipping colours on the carp rods are as standard on the early rods but the tipping that he chose was black instead of red. The sliding ring reel fittings he chose were anodised black instead of silver. The Avon was built to match the carp rods.
