EAST ANGLIAN ROD Co – 13′ “PROBE SUPERMATCH” GLASS FLOAT / COARSE FISHING ROD
Classic Glass Action | Traditional Styling | Scarce Early Model
A fine example of British coarse fishing heritage, this East Anglian Rod Co 13′ “Probe Supermatch” is a beautifully made glass fibre float rod, produced during the late 1970s to early 1980s—a golden era for hand-finished coarse rods in the UK. Scarce and increasingly hard to find in this condition, this is a sought-after model among collectors and traditional anglers alike.
Built on a lightweight yet strong glass blank, the rod delivers a smooth, forgiving action that excels in float fishing for roach, bream, tench, and chub. It remains a joy to fish with, offering superb line control and tip sensitivity.
This rod is in very good condition, having been carefully stored and lightly handled. It features a 29″ smooth cork handle, still with the original plastic wrap intact, knurled alloy reel slides, and classic styling with a pink ceramic butt ring, stand-off intermediate rings, and orange silk whippings.
Supplied with its original cloth rod bag, also in very good condition, this is a wonderful example of East Anglian Rod Co’s craftsmanship—a superb addition to any vintage tackle collection or ready for use by the discerning traditional angler.
